Professional Develoment Courses for Teachers in Earth and Space Science

The Blue Ridge Earth Science Collaborative will be offering four Earth science courses (astronomy, geology, meteorology, and oceanography) to teachers in Virginia. Each course will include laboratory and field experiences, research based pedagogical strategies, and integrated lessons on teaching scientific inquiry and the nature of science.

NEW: A few spaces have opened up for the Astronomy Course on June 23-July 3, 2014. Please follow the links on the left for more information.

The Geology course is full for summer 2014. We plan to apply for additional funding to offer courses during the 2014-2015 academic year and in summer 2015. Please check back here for additional information in late fall 2014.

We are offering an Astronomy course at the University of Virginia from June 23 to July 3, 2014 and a Geology of Virginia course from July 7-11 and July 21-25, 2014 at James Madison University. Additional information is located on the links on the left side of this page.
