About Our WWW Server
The Astronomy Department WWW server officially went on line the week of
August 21, 1994 on a Sun Sparc 10-514. It was moved to a Sun Enterprise
250 server on May 1, 1999. It was moved to a Linux server in October 2006.
We run the Apache Open Source web
server with the Open Source PHP
language and a MySQL database serving
our dynamic content. Web server
statistics are collected and analyzed by analog5.32. The
departmental pages are presently maintained by the webmaster. Search
engine supplied by Google.
