GOALS: Routine APOGEE observations are scheduled for less than a year from now.
The instrument is coming together and the APOGEE Science Team is intensely planning
the instrument commissioning and survey operations. The reduction software
pipeline is in full scale development mode.
The August 10 meeting will give us a chance to assess where we are and where we
are going with the APOGEE science planning. Much of the day will be set aside
for reviewing presentations for the APOGEE Science and Software Review taking place
the next day, with plenty of time for discussion of issues raised. A few invited
talks are planned. There may be time for a few relevant contributed science talks.
This will also be one of the only chances to see the inside of the APOGEE spectrograph
before it is sealed up!
