The conference venue is the Omni Hotel Charlottesville located in the historic downtown district of Charlottesville. Enjoy a stroll in the lively pedestrian mall or a (scientific) discussion with colleagues in one of the street cafes or restaurants. Bring your bathing suit to relax in the indoor and outdoor hotel pool or check out the year-round ice skating facility next to the hotel.
A reduced rate (54% off the rate listed on their web site) has been negotiated with the Omni Hotel which amounts to US$66.- plus tax (currently 9.5%) per single person per night. The double room rate is US$81.- plus tax per room per night.
All hotel rooms feature free internet access if you bring your own notebook. Internet access is also available through the hotel room TV system for a fee of US$10.- per day.
The hotel reservations should be done with the hotel directly by phone, fax (press here to download the fax sheet in Word .doc format; press here for an ASCII version if you can't handle Word) or letter mail. The pre-reserved hotel rooms (number based on the number of pre-registered people) for the above rate will be held until March 1, 2003. Rooms have been pre-reserved from May 31 (arrival) through June 4 (departure), 2003 and a smaller number of rooms has also been pre-reserved for people arriving on Friday May 30, 2003.
The deadline for hotel registration was
Saturday March 1, 15:00 Eastern Standard Time, 2003.
Note that it's unlikely but not impossible that you will be able to reserve a room at the Omni after the deadline.
