> Event Details

Astronomy Department Colloquia are held in the Astronomy Conference Room at 4pm on most Mondays during the the academic year. For these colloquia, coffee is served in the Astronomy Lounge half an hour before the start of the talk. Many of the joint colloquium speakers visit the department for an extended time; check the visitors list.

The schedules for the Tuesday UVa-NRAO Astronomy (TUNA) talks and the NRAO colloquia can be found on the NRAO web site. Both are also listed below.

Occasional colloquia and seminars of interest to astronomers that are sponsored by other departments are also listed here, as are other astronomy-related events in the Charlottesville area. Other goings-on around the Astronomy Department, such as hirings and awards can be found on the main page.

If you know of any astronomy-related events in the area, please let us know so that we may add them to this list.

Other Calendars

The Observatory Public Night Schedule and the ASTR 121/124 Lab Sign-Up System are maintained separately.

For a listing of events elsewhere at the University, visit the UVa Events Calendar and the Student Activities Calendar. The University Holiday Schedule is maintained by Human Resources. Academic Calendars are maintained by the College of Arts & Sciences and the University Registrar.
