Dr. Seidelmann's recent work has focused on space astrometry missions, reference systems, space surveillance, editing a new edition of the "Explanatory Supplement to the Astronomical Almanac", and writing a book, "Time-from Earth Rotation to Atomic Physics". He is President of the Celestial Mechanics Institute and past chairman of the IAU/IAG Working Group on Cartographic Coordinates and Rotational Elements.
