---++ Rosie Chen's Current Research ---+++ *Seemingly Quiescent GMC N159-S -- is it forming massive stars or not?* %BR% * No massive stars/YSOs are found in the GMC N159-S, opposing to its northern neighbors GMCs N159-E+W. * Is N159-S just beginning to form massive stars or not capable to do it? YSOs in N159 ---+++ *Searching for earliest star formation in N159-S* %BR% * Are there massive stars just being formed but not yet detectable with Spitzer? * Massive YSOs at earliest evolutionary stages are associated with dense gas clumps -- are there such clumps in N159-S? * (preliminary) ATCA HCO+ map of N159-S HCO+ map * Obvious HCO+ detection along a dust filament in 24 um image, but not in the molecular core. * HCO+ clump in N159-S has brightness similar to the fainter clumps in N159-E+W. The bright clumps in N159-E+W are all associated with massive YSOs, while there are no bright clumps nor massive YSOs in N159-S. * Any very embedded YSOs in the molecular core of GMC N159-S? * Herschel PACS 160 um image of N159-S (still no obvious sign of massive YSOs...) 160 map -- Main.RosieChen - 18 Jun 2010
