Friday Discussion Session: Each Friday at 3pm in Kerchof 317 we hold discussion sessions. Please bring questions for me related to the current homework, previous homeworks, and/or lectures. In the absence of questions from the class, my usual plan is to mention some things I find relevant to the homework and go over something I found really interesting in lecture. What this means is that if you don't want to hear me blather on about something... Ask questions!!

This Friday's agenda: Clear up some things from my lecture on Galaxy counts. Go over problem set due on Monday.

Non-Class related stuff: Ok, most of you are still in the early stages of your undergraduate careers. If you are an astronomy major and are considering graduate school in astronomy, I often volunteer to talk about grad school. Even if you don't talk to me about it, my suggestion is that you do find someone (one of my classmates, one of the faculty, a grad student in another science, like physics) to discuss grad school issues with. I found as an undergrad that I would have been lost if it hadn't been for information handed down to me by word of mouth from older students. If you have a question about anything related to grad school, what you should do as an undergrad to prepare for grad school, etc. I'm happy to answer all questions.
