Hello! My name is Catherine Zucker. This website is a work in progress! Feel free to browse around, and if you have any questions, be sure to contact me by email at csz4ak[at]virginia[dot]edu.
I am a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a double major in astrophysics and history at the University of Virginia. When I'm not learning IDL, doing photometry, or writing proposals, you can often find me reading books on the history of science. Outside of the academic realm, I volunteer with the science outreach organization, Dark Skies, Bright Kids! , where I operate our portable planetarium. Besides that, I enjoy vegan cooking, traveling, hiking, and hanging out with my kitty, Tommy :)!
I am a member of the star formation research group at the University of Virginia and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. I am mentored by Professor Kelsey Johnson and graduate student extraordinaire Lisa May Walker. I study compact groups of galaxies. You can find out more about that under the research tab.
