Dark Skies, Bright Kids!
I am a volunteer for the science outreach program, Dark Skies, Bright Kids (DSBK). The organization is committed to fostering scientific curiosity in elementary school children through fun, hands-on activities. Rural Albemarle County has some of the darkest night skies on the east coast. These skies are a great resource for teaching astronomy and instilling a love of the universe in local students. When it's daytime, or there are clouds overhead, we also have a portable StarLab planetarium. Below, you can see me running a show for children in the planetarium. If you're interested in helping out, or just want to learn more about the program, go visit the DSBK website!
