Angular momentum is a measure of the rotational property of motion. It is defined in terms of the motion of a body with respect to some point in space and the angle between the direction of the motion and the direction toward that defining point. An important principle of physics is the "conservation of angular momentum" which means that the angular momentum of a system (the momentum of rotation about a point) remains the same as long as no external torque acts.
