Mr. Bary holds a National Science Foundation Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship. The NSF AAPF are awarded to young researchers based on both their proposed research programs and an additional education and public outreach component. For the major component of Mr. Bary's research program, he is conducting a multi-epoch spectroscopic survey of young solar-like stars in the nearby Taurus-Auriga star forming region. Mr. Bary's education and public outreach program focuses on developing and teaching a course for preservice and inservice science teachers. The course covers introductory astronomy content with a concentration on interactive and/or hands-on lessons addressing the Virgina Standards Of Learning in the Earth Sciences.
