Turn on the powerstrip and this should turn everything ON. Leander will go into the OPEN BOOT (ok>) mode and will ask you to type boot. The boot procedure should take about 3minutes and you will end up with the familiar login screen just like in the department.
Login as user "sdsu" pass " ". The CDE environment desk top should come up in a short while. In one of the xterms type "voodoo". This will bring up the GUI that controlls the camera. The console window will be displaying messages ... "device driver succesfully attached". Soon after that a quick message appears on your screen indicating that Voodoo it is "calling mmap", and soon after that the Voodoo logo and GUI appear.
At this point Voodoo's setup file indicates that the GUI should perform some initialization tests to check the hardware and establish communication with the camera controller. Messages should be...

Now that the controller is communicating you can open a saoimage or an ximtool from an other xterm and also start IRAF. Images can be stored under /leander a 35.5GB disc or /data a 21GB disc.
