Glowing embers light the walls,
brightening with every breath;
Blood rushes in torrents and bubbles,
torment is wrought in the heat.
A whirlwind blows through the halls,
a chill spreads as in death;
The ground cracks and rumbles,
groans echo with every beat.
There is the sting of lightning,
and every sigh rolls like thunder;
But the storm quenches no fires,
no sunshine warms the winter.
